Applied acoustics for the engineer

OBJECTIVE :

This course offers industry engineers, especially transportation engineers, an introduction to digital and experimental acoustics and vibration tools and their integration into the design process.

COURSE DURATION AND TIMETABLE :

The course lasts 4.5 days (30 hours) and includes:

  • 13 lectures
  • 7 sessions with application exercises
  • 1 panel discussion

GENERAL APPROACH :

The course focuses on:

  • the physical understanding of the phenomena
  • the implementation of methodologies used in design studies

Each topic leads to a presentation followed by tutorials.

At the final panel discussion, learners will have the opportunity to present their own issues.

PREREQUISITE :

Course level: Basic

Basic knowledge of theoretical acoustics, vibration mechanics, signal processing and digital analysis is desirable.
