Certification processes (Part-21) and introduction to CS-25 Certification Specifications

OBJECTIVE :

Aircraft Airworthiness shall be established and maintained with in a regulatory framework.

This course aims to present and understand EASA Part-21 requirements related to the certification processes as well as design and production organisations.

Global review and analysis of CS-25 certification specifications (‘large aeroplanes’) are also presented.

This course constitutes a useful pre-requisite for the more specialized courses related to the CS-25 certification specifications reviewed per disciplines (see AED 063, 064, 065, 067 and 068).

COURSE DURATION AND TIMETABLE :

Course duration is 2 days (12 hours).

GENERAL APPROACH :

Following presentation of the scope and contents of the different chapters (‘subparts’), the key requirements are then deeply reviewed and analyzed while underlining their interpretation and applicable compliance demonstrations (Acceptable Means of Compliance, Guidance Material).

  • Organization approval procedures (EASA Part-21)
    • Design organization
    • Production organization
    • ETSO authorization
    • For each item : eligibility, compliance demonstration and justifications, privileges, continued validity. Design
  • CS-25 certification specifications
    • Contents and general provisions
    • Review of key requirements in the various technical areas (flight, structure, powerplant, systems, cabin and cargo…) through the presentation of the CS-25 chapters (‘subparts’)
