Functional analysis of a product or service in the context of system engineering
This course is for technicians, engineers, buyers or managers wishing to participate effectively in the Functional Analysis of a product or service as part of a system engineering approach. It identifies the methodological needs and proposes tools adapted to each level of analysis (systems, subsystems, components) and the management of the interfaces between the functional modules. It enables learners to:
- acquire and increase knowledge in this methodological field
- actively participate in a needs expression group at a system level and its subsystems level
- contribute to the writing of Functional Specifications
- participate effectively in a working group implementing a system engineering approach.
The course lasts 3 days (18 hours) and includes:
- 8 hours of lessons; 2 hours of exercises
- 8 hours of practical work (case studies selected by learners)
Understanding of the process of Functional Needs Analysis and its result, the Functional Specifications, is a prerequisite for any system engineering approach. It involves understanding the tools that enable the decomposition of a complex system into functional subsystems, objectively describing the requirements and understanding the interfaces.
Highly interactive and highly operational, this course alternates theoretical presentations with examples of various applications and case studies in which the tools are put into practice.
