Design of composite structures

OBJECTIVE :

This training will provide the essential multi-disciplinary skills to master the design of composite structures.

COURSE DURATION AND TIMETABLE :

The duration training course is 5 days (30 hours).

GENERAL APPROACH :

Due to its complexity, composite structural design requires a concurrent engineering approach of the different disciplines: materials, stress analysis, failure criteria, drawing methodologies, design rules, manufacturing methods, certification rules, NDT methods...

This training course will provide the various knowledge and methods currently available within the field of composite materials.

It will also describe the different steps leading to the manufacture of a product, taking into consideration reliability, quality, up to product certification aspects.

The subject will be limited to long fibre reinforced composites.

The application field will be aeronautics as a starting point, but other domains such as space, shipbuilding, are also addressed.

PREREQUISITE :

Training course level: Advanced training

The necessary knowledge to follow this training course are those delivered in the classical mechanical engineering classes, (materials, continuum mechanics, elasticity, etc...).
