Safety of systems, operational security - 2022

Tools and methods of analysis for controlling risks

This course covers the principles of implementing methods and tools for controlling risk and explores the means of conducting this approach in an industrial context.

The course lasts 4 days (24 hours) and includes:

  • 7 hours of lectures
  • 10 hours of exercises with examples of application
  • 6 hours of case studies
  • 1 hour of panel discussion and summary

This course presents an overview of the various FMECA, PRA and fault tree methods and tools implemented in system risk analysis as well as other complementary methods such as cause tree analysis, RBDs, Markov, etc.

Concrete examples are analyzed, particularly in the automotive and chemical sectors.

Finally, the last day of the course is dedicated to a case study chosen specifically to illustrate all methods related to overall risk control.

Course level: Basic

This course is for technicians. Basic knowledge of probability calculations is desirable.
